Week 90: Lessons, Contacting, and Meetings!

Hello Everyone, here is the run down of this week. Enjoy!

Monday was a pretty lit p day. We played some sports and grilled up some more burgers, so that's hype.
Tuesday we were in Ashland on a training visit. I was with elder Carpenter for the day and we had a good time. We cleaned up their apartment and got it looking real nice. Afterwards we went out for a walk and talked to people on the street. We stopped by a couple members during the day and had some good visits.
Wednesday was way hype. We went on a district blitz (this is missionary for a group of missionaries going to a certain area and talking to everyone). We ended up finding a new person so we were way excited! After that we had a couple members visits and called it a day.
Thursday we had zone conference up in Kirtland! It was incredible getting to go back up there. We had some awesome trainings and I got to give a training on door knocking. I guess you could say I'm kind of an expert on the subject. When that was over with we got to play some basketball with some members in the ward. Other than that, more or less the same stuff.
Friday we went on a training visit in Akron. I was with Elder Murphy for the day and it was a ton of fun. We had some bomb lessons with some people they're teaching and walked around Akron University for a little bit.
Saturday we went and knocked some former people's doors and didn't have the most success, but we did talk to one hype guy named Dennis. After that we went and helped some new members move into the ward and it went by pretty fast with all of us there. After that we had a bunch of lessons cancel, so we ended up going to a basketball/bible bash session. To summarize what happened: some elders met a Baptist pastor and his friends and asked if they wanted to do a game of basketball and do a bible study. They said yes and they came to bash. It was fun but we have decided to stop talking with them because they are pretty much a bunch of Nehors. Oh well!
Sunday was another rinse and repeat of last Sunday. Lessons, contacting, and meeting with as many people as we can. We stopped by Sister Nichol's house and we pretty much did a missionary birthday celebration with her with tacos and cornhole.

Miracle of the week:
Elder Kofoed's leprosy is healed. Now I don't have to be scared about getting leprosy from him.

Funny moment of the week:
I got to make fun of Elder Kofoed's leprosy for a couple weeks. That's pretty dang funny to me.

Love,
Elder Bohn

Week 89: A Week to be Sure!

Hey everyone! Truly, this has been a week to be sure. Nothing too crazy happened this week, just non stop good times and non stop laughs!

Here is a quick run through of this week:
Monday we played a whole bunch of basketball and volleyball throughout the day. Other than that we had a pretty average p day.
Tuesday was our mission leadership council so we had to drive 2 hours down to Powell to make it. Overall it was an incredible council and we discussed a lot of good things and got some good ideas and thoughts across. There were a couple stupid unnecessary questions, but that is just how it goes. After that we had a couple visits with some members and called it a day.
Wednesday we had district council in the morning which went really good. Afterwards we went out street contacting with one of the senior missionary couples and it was a ton of fun. We talked with a couple pretty awesome people. At one point we were heading back to the car and there was someone sitting down near the sidewalk and Elder Bradarich (the senior missionary) looked at us and said, "give me a passalong card". He then went and gave it to them and talked with them for a little bit. It was pretty hype. After that we had a couple really awesome lessons and called it a day.
Thursday was more or less the same old stuff. Lessons and contacting on repeat. At the end of the day we went and played some basketball with some peeps the Nepali Elders are teaching. Overall, it was a way hype day.
Friday we went on training visits with the Nepali elders. I was with Elder Smith for the day and we had a pretty eventful day. We knocked a lot of doors and I just pretty much stood there and smiled and waved because I don't speak Nepali. It was pretty fun just vibing with Elder Smith all day. We had some interesting food, but it wasn't bad so I'm not complaining.
Saturday morning Elder Kofoed and Raj went to go get their leprosy healed, so Elder Smith and I were back on the grind together. We ended up knocking some doors in the rain for a couple hours. It was hype. After that, just a rinse and repeat of lessons and contacting.
Sunday was a really good day overall. We talked to a lot of really awesome members and had some good visits with some members in the ward.

See next weeks post for the funny moment and miracle of the week.

Love,
Elder Bohn

Week 88: Hello Tallmadge!

Hey everyone! This has been a busy week. Like very busy. Lots of service. Lots of lessons. It's way hype though!

Here's a quick run through of the week:
Wednesday we mobbed around on OSU playing volleyball for the last time with the boys. It was pretty sad not gonna lie.
Thursday was transfers so happy and sad times. Elder Newberry got his new trainee and headed down to Scioto and I got my new companion Elder Koefed, and he is literally the best! We have a ton in common and he is just way fun and super outgoing. We drove back home after transfers and unpacked everything and did a bunch of contacting.
Friday we did service for a member and helped get his house all cleaned up. After that we had some super awesome lessons with some members and a guy we are teaching named John. He is an... interesting guy but he's awesome!
Saturday we had breakfast with a senior missionary couple that serve up here with our district so it was awesome. After that our whole district went over to a member's house and did some yard work for a while. I might have poison ivy, but that's just part of the gig. After that we had a couple lessons with some pretty awesome members. All the members up here are Rockstars!
Sunday we had church and Elder Koefed gave a talk and it was powerful. John (the guy from earlier) came and he really enjoyed the service. After that we met with more members. One of them was a a guy named Nick who was baptized a little bit ago. He's working on getting ready for his mission so we helped him memorize some things for the restoration. After that we had a couple lessons and ended off the night hanging out with the Nepali elders.

Miracle of the week:
After Elder Koefed's talk some member came up to us after and said that after listening to his talk the spirit confirmed to her that we need to teach teach and baptize her grandchildren. So that is way awesome!

Funny moment of the week:
I had crab wraps at a member's house. Literally a tortilla with cheese and crab. It was kinda bland, but interesting. Good times!

Love,
Elder Bohn

Week 87: Goodbye Scioto...

Hey everyone! I'm going to make this quick because I have to pack my bags to get ready to get transferred. I'm heading up to Tallmage which is right next to Akron. I'm pretty excited, its going to be good times!

Here's a quick run through of this week:
Monday we had P day. Need I say more besides volleyball and spikeball?
Tuesday we went up to OSU and street contacted with our mission President and a bunch of other missionaries. We gave away 2 copies of the Book of Mormon and 10 pass-along cards. We also bashed with a Muslim dude about Jesus Christ for an hour. Good times.
Wednesday we had our last district council before transfers. We celebrated at the end with a glow in the dark party. Elder Thompson is finishing his mission so we did a death photo of him getting run over. Other than that, just phone calls and lessons.
Thursday I was in Greenfield with Elder Thompson. We had a hype day of painting, lessons, and giving a blessing to a member in the hospital. It was chaotic, but really good.
Friday we did some service at the food bank which always goes good. After that we went over to Belinda and Derrick's to do some service. We knocked down a couple trees and made a bonfire with them so it was fantastic. We maybe kind of stayed out a little late with the fact that we didn't leave until 10:20pm. It's okay though because we're on President's errand.
Saturday we cleaned out the garage and painted the shed of a member in the ward. We had to bike there because our car was getting a tire replaced so that was interesting. I haven't been on a bike in a while so it felt good. After that que lessons and phone calls.
Sunday we had a normal day of ward council, church, and Sunday school. After that we got invited to Randy and Marion's family 4th of July BBQ. (They're the couple we helped move in a couple weeks ago). We had some delicious food and played some corn hole before turning in for the night. It was a fantastic day!
Monday we had a mission party for the Horgesheimer's year mark. We played ultimate, volleyball, spikeball, corn hole, and kickball. It was our zone against the North zone, and needless to say we won 11-2. Get freaking whipped on. One thing that happened though was that President told me that he needed me up north in Akron for the next transfer during the party. So I got some time before transfers to say goodbye to people. After that, we had some lessons and a lot of texting people.
Tuesday was a slower day. It was pretty me saying goodbye to people I've met out here. It was pretty sad honestly. I've definitely loved this area a lot because of how awesome the people are.

Miracle of the week:
I'd have to say the biggest miracle of the week has been seeing how much meeting with missionaries can change people's lives. After meeting with awesome friends telling them that I'm leaving and them saying how much they  appreciated meeting with us and spending time with them melts my heart. I'm going to miss this place.

Funny moment of the week:
Elder Newberry and I almost had a heart attack at Belinda and Derek's when this spider popped out at us. (Look at the pictures and you'll understand). Good times!

Love,
Elder Bohn

Final Thoughts!

I love this gospel! I am so grateful for the honor and privilege it was to labor in the vineyard of the Lord. I know Christ lives, and I kno...
