Week 99: Razzle Dazzle!

Hey everyone! And just like that, the transfer is over and we're on to a new one. I am going to be moving to a new area to train a new missionary so that will be something! I am definitely excited for what the future holds.

Here is a quick run through of the week:
Monday we had an average p day. Just messing around at the church with the other missionaries and we ended off the night with a good ol 'campfire with smores.
Tuesday we had training visits with the Spanish elders and it went pretty well. I was with Elder Perry and we pretty much had a ton of member visits lined up throughout the day that we went to. We spent a lot of time talking about missionary work and what our thoughts were on different things and it was a pretty good discussion.
Wednesday was a wild day. It was mainly spent improvising and doing things on the spot. We ran around and just tried to stop by as many people as we could to try and set up visits or to share a message with them then and there. Sadly no one was home, but we still had a good time doing it.
Thursday we pretty much did a whole bunch of walking around looking for people to talk to for most of the morning. We got a couple miles in so it was pretty hype. We had a couple member lessons in the late afternoon that all went pretty good. We played this wack card game called "The Love Craft Letter" and it was lowkey kind of fun. After that we went by and visited Jen and Kayleigh and had a lesson with Chloe and taught her the restoration so it was awesome.
Friday was pretty uneventful for the beginning of the day. We had a couple boring meetings and different studies. Things picked up at the end of the day when we got to go to Kayleigh's high school football game. It was definitely a fun time there and we got to pass out a lot of pass along cards so it was definitely worth it. We also won the game too so woot woot.
Saturday we had training visits with the Ashland elders and I was with Elder Foster for the day. We started off the morning with a district breakfast at a senior missionary couple's house. After that we had a service project where we moved out and then moved in a member family in the ward. Afterwards we got Chipotle with all the boys and went to a couple lessons in the afternoon.
Sunday was your average Sunday in the mission. After church was over we had a couple good lessons with some people we are teaching and stopped by some members afterwards. All in all everything went by pretty dang quick.
Monday was a slow slow day because we were in the pday mindset, but it was a normal day. We did a ton of just walking around talking to people in the morning and tried to schedule some more lessons throughout the week.
Tuesday went by pretty quickly honestly. We got the headlight fixed on our truck and had a good amount of member and nonmember visits throughout the day.

Miracle of the week:
One miracle I've seen is just how much Kayleigh and Chloe have grown over the past couple months of meeting with us. They are absorbing everything like a sponge and the gospel is changing their lives for the better!

Funny moment of the week:
On Sunday I challenged one of the members who was speaking to use "razzle dazzle" in their talk as many times as they could. I was fairly impressed when they got it four times, so props to them.

Love,
Elder Bohn

Week 98: Baseball and Ball Pits!

Hey everyone! Not gonna lie this was a chaotic week. I know I say that a lot, but it's true.

Here's a quick run through of the week:
Monday we did our normal p day stuff. We played basketball and stuff and got some pizza as a district.
Tuesday we had training visits with the Canton elders and I spent the day with Elder Bagley. We walked around downtown Akron in the morning and talked to people so things went pretty good. After that we met with a couple members and did some studies. At the end of the day we played some baseball with Jen and her family and there were no injuries so we're chillin'.
Wednesday was a wild day from he start. We had district council in the morning which went really good. After that we helped a member move out some stuff from their house and move it to another one. After doing that and going to a couple lessons a member took us to a minor league baseball game. It was way fun even though we lost. We were able to talk to a couple pretty cool people there.
Thursday we went on training visits with Kent State Elders. We did a lot of finding and trying to get in contact with referrals we've gotten so we had a pretty good time. The highlight of the day was when we got some all you can eat lunch from a Japanese place. We ended up eating $115 dollars worth of food between the 4 of us. It was hype.
Friday we helped stain Gary's table again. It was pretty lit, we worked while he ranted about politics. We then went and filmed a video as a district that I am praying never gets posted for the sheer cringe of it all. When that nonsense was over we had a couple lessons and called it a day.
Saturday we had training visits with the New Portage elders and I was with Elder Prins. We had a fairly busy day of running around having lessons. We met with Jen and Kayleigh to help them clean the church and had a dope lesson with them. Nothing else too crazy happened except for we got food from a Cafe Rio type place and the guy at the counter had no idea what carne asada was, so yeah.
Sunday was yet again another Sunday on the mission. We did all the normal stuff in the morning but we had a pretty busy afternoon. We met with Jen and her family and had a good lesson together. We went with the sisters to meet with a guy they put on date and we taught him the commandments. He has some interesting ideas and beliefs about some of the commandments, but it's all good. To wrap up the night we had some dinner and played cards with the Nepali elders.

Miracle of the week:
One miracle I've seen this past week with all the members that we meet with is how much they love and trust us. If they ever need anything they always reach out to us. Its awesome to know that the ward trusts us!

Funny moment of the week:
So the member Jen, that we meet with, she is a recent convert and we baptized her 14 year old daughter the other week. That family absolutely loves us and they wanted to play a prank on us. To make a long story short they filled the bed of our truck with balls and made a ball pit and had a us do a scavenger hunt inside of it. It was pretty funny and hopefully I'll be able to get you a video soon.

Love,
Elder Bohn

Week 97: Quick Weeks & Long Days

Hey everyone! This has been one super busy and kind of chaotic week. We've been all over the place so it's been a good ole time all the time.

Here is a quick run through of the week:
Monday we went as a district to go and play mini golf. I was reminded how much I suck at it but it's all good. After that we just hung out at the church and had a good time!
Tuesday we had training visits with the AP's so it was pretty lit. I was with Elder Maxfield and we had a busy day of running around all over the place. We did some service for a member and pretty much destroyed their entire backyard that was a jungle. After that we had a bunch of lessons that all went pretty good. To end off the night we went over to Texas Roadhouse and had some good food.
Wednesday we had training visits with the Wadsworth elders. I was with Elder Marler for the day. We started off the morning with service for a guy named Ed. He is a pretty cool guy who just chills inside and complains about the world. We cleared our a bunch of his flower beds and went on our way. After that it was a fairly average day filled with contacting and trying to set up more lessons.
Thursday was a pretty long day. We had interviews and district council which went all day long. We were at the church from 8:30am to 7:30pm. It was a good day though so I can't complain and interviews went good so it was lit.
Friday we had training visits with with Spanish Elders and I was with Elder Lewis for the day. We helped move in a new missionary apartment which went smoothly. After that we did a lot of contacting and had a couple really good lessons with random people. To end off the night we had a district devo at a members house and had a good time with everyone.
Saturday we did another training visit, this time with the Nepali elders. I took Elder Taylor out to do some English work for the day. We helped stain some tables for a our friend Gary. We were there for 2 hours while he ranted about politics. It was pretty fun! After that we had a couple lessons with some members that all went pretty smoothly. We did quite a bit of knocking so it was pretty fun and we actually found some pretty cool people to talk to.
Sunday we had church like normal and we got a member who hadn't been to church in a year and a half to finally come again so we were pretty ecstatic. After that we kidnapped one of the Nepali elders, Elder Perkins and went to a couple lessons. We ended up keeping him throughout the day and he just stayed the night with us. He kept telling us that he felt like he was staying the night with his grandparents. It was pretty lit not gonna lie.

Miracle of the week:
We were able to put Chloe on date this week! She is a friend of Kayleigh, the girl that was baptized last week. She's been coming to church with her and she's been at most of the lessons with Kayleigh so we asked if she wanted to be baptized and she said yes!

Funny moment of the week:
While we were at interviews with President we asked him where he got his suit and he flexed on us hard-core. He showed us how his suit has his name on the inside of his coat and also his signature sewed onto it. Like it just came out of nowhere and now I want a suit with my signature on it.

Elder Bohn

Week 96: Baptisms!

Here is the quick run down for the week.

Monday Elder Kofoed went to a golf tournament with President, so I chilled down in Columbus with some other elders and had a good time. That was about it for Monday.
Tuesday we had our zone conference and it was incredible. It was based around Lehi's vision and it was pretty intense. I'll put some videos in and a bunch of pictures that we took.
Wednesday we filmed a video with our district and had an average day.
Thursday we were with the Spanish elders and it was a ton of fun. We did some service at a members house and chopped down a couple trees.
Friday we were in Ashland with the Ashland elders and that went really good. We did a lot of contacting and had some good studies while we were there.
Saturday was a phenomenal day! We had 2 baptisms. One for the girl we've been teaching Kayleigh, and the Nepali elders had one for Bibak. It was just the bees knees of days for us! At the end of the day we had a ward bbq and it was a ton of fun. Long story short a was attacked by like 15 little kids while we played tag, soccer, and a bunch of other miscellaneous games.
Sunday was an average day. We had a couple really good visits after church so it went pretty awesome.

Miracle of the week:
We got Kayleigh baptized so that was SUPER hype!

Funny moment of the week:
We went fishing for our lunch time when we were doing service and I was the only one who didn't catch anything. You could say I was very salty. Oh well!

Love,
Elder Bohn

Week 95: Back to Back Wedding and Baptism!

Hey everyone! Imma keep it real with you, I do not have a strong desire to write a weekly this week so I am going to give a very very condensed spark notes version.

Here is a spark notes of this week:
Monday was our average, normal pday.
Tuesday we had MLC and it was pretty hype.
Wednesday we had district council, we did a service project helping Aleah get ready for her wedding over the weekend and we had a bible study.
Thursday we did training visits and walked around Kent State.
Friday we did more training visits.
Saturday was a wild crazy day. We had breakfast with the Bradarichs. They are a Senior Missionary Couple. We did some service for Smitty Smith. Yep, you read that right. We did a district blitz. After that we helped set up for Aleah's wedding. We got called away to help Brother Bradarich and then went back to finish the night at the wedding. I have never been more invested in the outcome of an event. We totally pulled off the wedding.
Sunday we almost had to speak in sacrament meeting. The Bishop was afraid his speakers wouldn't take all the time. Luckily we dodged a bullet and the time was filled. After church we had Aleah's baptism. We went to visit the Bradarichs to check on them. We drove down to Columbus at the end of the night so Elder Kofoed could participate in a charity golf tournament with President.

Funny Moment of the Week:
The sisters name from the Bible Study. Yeah, not even gonna try it.

Miracle of the Week:
Being of service to Brother Bradarich was amazing. We were able to give him a blessing and we had everyone write him notes of encouragement and he was truly touched. I love them.

Love,
Elder Bohn

Final Thoughts!

I love this gospel! I am so grateful for the honor and privilege it was to labor in the vineyard of the Lord. I know Christ lives, and I kno...
