Week 103: Uchtdorf Time!

Hey everyone! This has been an exciting week to be sure. Not really, we just had an awesome Sunday because Elder Uchtdorf came and spoke to our mission in person. So yeah, that was pretty hype!

Here is a quick run through of the week:
Monday we went to OSU and played sand volleyball and spikeball so that was lit.
Tuesday we went and we helped a couple named Diane and Brian clean out their attic. They are doing a full house renovation so we are just helping them out with it. After that we had a couple lessons which is always lit.
Wednesday we had district council which went pretty good. We met with a lady we're teaching named Lorraine and taught her the restoration. We left her with a Book of Mormon and she seemed excited to read it! After that we helped a member family move into their new house so that was exhausting.
Thursday we had a whole bunch of canceled lessons so that sucked. Everybody had to cancel so we had to just make the most of it. We ended up doing a whole bunch of contacting so that was lit. We were able to set up some more lessons for the week.
Friday was pretty much the same as Thursday. More canceled lessons and more contacting. We did have a good visit with one of the families in the ward so that made the day all worth it.
Saturday started off good with more house renovation with Brian and Diane. After that was done things turned into the previous couple of days. More canceled lessons. We ended up going to a lady named Elsie's house. She was crazy and talked for literally hours about EVERYTHING. It was a miracle that we got out of there. It was pretty fun, so what can you do?
Sunday was way awesome. We had ward council and blew everyone away because we actually had people to bring up and talk about so they were all impressed. Elder Smith gave a talk in church and it went really good! After that it was going to the Uchtdorf conference. All I can say is, wow. The church is definitely true and he is definitely an Apostle of the Lord, Jesus Christ! After the conference we went back and had an elder grill party and ate some burgers so it was a phenomenal day.

Miracle of the week:
Honestly, the things that Elder and Sister Uchtdorf talked about were exactly what we all needed to hear. He discussed how our attitudes make all the difference and how daily restoration will change our lives. It was just incredible from start to finish.

Funny moment of the week:
We got haircuts from a member in the Spanish branch. Needless to say, we may need to go to another barber soon.

Week 102: One of Those Weeks!

Hey Everyone,

It has been one of those weeks. I just couldn't manage to put together a weekly summary. Mom chastised me so this is what you get.

Funny Moment of the Week:
A lot of lessons cancelled for us on Tuesday so we were trying to find things to do, and one member reached out to us to work in his garden. We ended up having an awesome time with him going and purging old fruit and weeks from the garden.

Miracle of the Week:
We were able to find some really solid people and start teaching them. they seem genuinely interested and it's awesome!

Elder Bohn

Week 101: The Find Grind

Hey everyone! Wowzers this was a fun, crazy week for me. We have been super busy trying to meet people and get things rolling. We've been doing a lot of finding because a lot of the people that the elders were teaching are not too interested. So yeah, we're grinding!

Here is a quick run through of the week:
Monday we just did our normal stuff so it was hype. We also went to IKEA and Top Golf so it was lit.
Tuesday we met with some Buddhist lady we're teaching named Gloria. She kept asking questions like "why does God let us suffer if he loves us?" etc. The member we brought with us popped off so it was hype. After that we went finding a.k.a knocking doors for a couple hours before having a couple more lessons.
Wednesday we had district council in the morning which was hype. After that we had a couple people blow us off and cancel so we showed them and knocked some doors. That went decently alright, but no one was too interested. At the end of the night we had an awesome lesson with a lady named Sylvia and taught about the plan of salvation. Hopefully we can get her to progress.
Thursday we had a morning sync up with our bishop and he gave us a layout of the land. He gave us some peeps to reach out to so we can stay busy. Middle of the day we did, you guessed it, more knocking! No one liked us still so it was a bummer, but its all good. We had a bomb lesson with the Birch family. The husband is an area 70 so that's hype. Kind of intimidating but whatever.
Friday was a slower day. It consisted of planning, studying, and more planning. We had a super awesome lesson that I can explain more in the miracle of the week.
Saturday we did some epic service for a member's neighbor who is purging their home and renovating it. We tore up the yard and helped clean up the attic so it was hype. After that we had a bunch of random lessons and yes, more door knocking. We actually had a couple really awesome people we talked to so it was hype.
Sunday was our first Sunday in the ward so it was good getting to meet everyone. Our Bishop loves us and is giving us mad shout outs. We had a bunch of lessons cancel on us so it was time to do more knocking!

Miracle of the week:
We had a lesson with a lady named Terri and her daughter Annabelle so it was lit. They were happy to have us over and she ended up opening up about some struggles she's having and we were able to really connect and give some good advice. We set up another time to come by so it was lit.

Funny moment of the week:
We had a 10 minute long prayer from some African people who love Jesus one day. It was awesome because they just kept shouting amen the whole time and we were there for a fat minute. Only on the mission.

Elder Bohn

Week 100: New Beginnings

Hey everyone! And just like that another week has passed. Things have been crazy to say the very least. I'm training a new missionary named Elder Smith in Westerville. We got doubled in so neither of us know the area so it's lit.

Here is a quick run through of this week:
Wednesday was spent packing and getting ready to leave. It was sad, but I was also excited for the new adventures. We went to an art museum so that was lame, but it's all good.
Thursday was transfers and it all went pretty smoothly. I got to see some old faces and meet my new companion Elder Smith. He's from Fresno, California and he is a stud! We got to the apartment and got things rolling. We had a couple lessons to go to and knocked some doors and found a new person so that was hype.
Friday was a lot of weekly planning to make plans and goals to get the work rolling here. We stopped by a couple people and had some good lessons to end off the day.
Saturday was filled with general conference and canceled lessons. It was sad but also way hype.
Sunday was more or less the same things as Saturday so it was hype.

Miracle of the week:
Definitely had some prayers answered from Conference. I guess you could say that the church is true or something like that.

Funny moment of the week:
Literally the very first lesson we had here we got dropped. The guy said he didn't get anything out of the lessons and didn't care to meet anymore. It was a fat RIP, but we laughed pretty hard over it.

Love,
Elder Bohn

Final Thoughts!

I love this gospel! I am so grateful for the honor and privilege it was to labor in the vineyard of the Lord. I know Christ lives, and I kno...
