Week 108: Turkey Day!

Happy Thanksgiving to you all! I can't believe that this is my third Thanksgiving on the mission. This week was a ton of fun and it went by too quick!

Here's a run through of the week:
Monday was p day so we were chilling for the day. We had a couple phone calls in the morning and then went to Easton mall with a couple elders and had a good ole time.
Tuesday we went on training visits with the Spanish 2A Elders. I was with Elder Christensen for the day and it was a hoot. We had a couple fire lessons throughout the day. One was with Gloria and it was a lot of just questions and answers. After that we met with a couple members and had some good lessons.
Wednesday we had a 4 mile run in the morning with our zone and mission President so it was pretty hype. After we survived that we had district council and it went really good. To end off the day we had a couple lessons with members and some friends we're teaching.
Thursday was the legendary turkey day! We did some flag football with the ward in the morning and got wet and muddy in the rain but that's all the fun. After that we went on splits and I went with Elder Christensen to go to Venessa's house for Thanksgiving. We had an incredible time there and shared a message with her and her family. After that we wound down for the night and called it a happy turkey day.
Friday was a very long boring day. It was back to back meetings, planning, and studies. It was a very long day. But it all came together when we decided to go biking to go and knock some doors. So we ended up biking 6 miles to go to a spot to knock some doors. Nothing too crazy happened until the end of the night. I'll mention more on it in the miracle of the week.
Saturday we went up to Newark on a training visit. I got to spend the day with my good old friend Elder Allen. So I was very ecstatic to say the least. We had a couple lessons  throughout the day with some people they're teaching. We also had a really good phone call with one lady that we have been trying to meet with. We managed to set up a return appointment and we invited her to church. Overall it was just a phenomenal day, I love Elder Allen with all my heart.
Sunday was a pretty slow day for the most part. We had church in the morning and we got to teach the lesson in young women's so it was lit. After church we had a lot of planning and studies to do so that got boring. Things picked up when we just started calling through a whole bunch of random people in our area book. We were able to get like 5 return appointments and get 3 new people to teach. So yeah, you could say it was hype.

Miracle of the week:
When we went finding that Friday night we knocked for a couple hours to no avail. When we were about to head home we felt inspired to knock on one more door before turning in for the night. We knocked and shared a message and she talked about how she's been looking for a church to join since moving here. We weren't able to get her information, but we are going to stop by again to try and set something up!

Funny moment of the week:
We started off our training visit up in Newark with a legendary song. I hope you enjoy!

Love,
Elder Bohn

Week 107: Zone Conference and Car Sickness!

Hey everyone! This has been one chaotic week honestly. It was way fun, but all over the place.

Here is a quick run through of the week:
Monday we had a fun district activity and played some basketball and spikeball so that was lit. After that we had a pretty chill night not doing too much.
Tuesday we had a pretty wild day from start to finish. We had a bunch of planned lessons, that mostly fell through, but that's just how we roll. We had a super awesome lesson with the Birch family. The husband is in the 70, so he is a pretty big deal. I waited until after we practiced teaching the restoration to let Elder Tolman know that so it was funny.
Wednesday we had zone conference which was awesome. We had some awesome trainings and something super funny happened but I'll talk about it in a little bit. After that we got home and went and helped a member do some yard work with some other missionaries. He took us to get sandwiches after we got done so that was lit.
Thursday we did some service for Brian and Diane and tore up some more stuff so it was exciting. After that we had service with some lady where we went with her husband to go and pick up a recliner chair. So we hop in the mini van and go and grab it and head back home. As we are driving home he starts to look uneasy. He then in a completely monotone voice says, "I hate to do this to you guys, but I gotta barf". He then pulls over and just starts puking out the door on the side of the door. It was gross, but it happened. We got home quickly after that and got that chair unloaded and got out of dodge.
Friday we had an average day mostly. We had a sync up meeting with our bishop in the morning which went really good. After that we did some more service with Brian and Diane and tore up the house even more. After that we went on a contacting spree and set up a bunch of lessons.
Saturday we did training visits with some Spanish Elders in the district. We did service at a food pantry in the morning and met some pretty hype ladies. After that Elder Bowen and I went out and had some super awesome lessons with some people we're teaching so it was lit.
Sunday we had church in the morning and a couple lessons in the afternoon. We ended off the night with a youth Fireside. They did a panel discussion with 20 questions the youth asked and I got to help out with it so it was hype. Other than that nothing else happened.

Miracle of the week:
We were finally able to get in contact with less active member named Jake. He is way hype and he asked a lot of really good questions and talked a lot about coming back to church. It was awesome to see his desire to come back and that we were there to help him.

Funny moment of the week:
So for the past week or so I have been telling Elder Tolman that I've been out for a little bit over 14 months. And he believed me. So at zone conference at the end, all of the missionaries that are leaving give their departing testimonies (which would be me). The look on Elder Tolman's face was priceless when they announced my name. So that was way funny.

Love,
Elder Bohn

Final Thoughts!

I love this gospel! I am so grateful for the honor and privilege it was to labor in the vineyard of the Lord. I know Christ lives, and I kno...
