Hey everyone! What a week this has been. There has been some interesting times to say the least. I'll just let the weekly explain everything.
Here's a quick run through of this week:
Wednesday we had our pday which is always lit. We played some more basketball and then celebrated with some Texas Roadhouse. It was sad saying goodbye to all the elders that were leaving, but it'll buff.
Thursday we went over to see Belinda and Derek again. We ended up helping paint their upstairs bathroom which was exciting. After that we cleaned some windows and read some scriptures. Before heading home we went over and got our second dose of the vaccine so yeah, that wiped me out. Oh well!
Friday we got a call from some elders saying they needed our help setting up for a marathon. So to make a long story short; in a town here called London, they decided to hold a marathon there. Our mission President wanted to run in the marathon so he had the missionaries help out with it. So Friday us and 2 other sets of elders got the supplies ready to go for about 7 hours. It suuucked. But it wasn't the worst thing in the world.
Saturday was the day of the race. We got there at 5:45am along with 80 other missionaries to get things going. The missionaries were in charge of the aid stations where they give water and Gatorade. It was pretty hype! President ended up running all 26.2 miles in about 4 hours so he is kind of a madman. To end off the day we just called some people and got some Waffle house with some other elders.
Sunday we had church in person which is always a blast. After that we had a couple lessons with some members that went pretty sweet. At the end of the day I just went ham and cleaned our kitchen and living room. So that's hype.
Miracle of the week:
The mission was able to experience some awesome miracles from the marathon. We were able to meet and talk to so many new people while doing the marathon. The people down there have a more positive outlook on missionaries now!
Funny moment of the week:
When President was on the last 6 miles of the run elder Brady and I decided to run it with him to give him some support. I don't know how I lived, but I did it. It was a ton of fun running with him and getting to know him more!
Love,
Elder Bohn
