Hey everyone! Well, this has been a roller coaster of a week to be sure. To sum it all up, it's been a lot of training visits and crazy visits with members.
Here is a quick run through of the week:
Monday was yet again another rinse and repeat of every single pday here. A lot of basketball and volleyball followed up by a good ole bbq.
Tuesday we went on training visits with the assistants. I was with Elder Anderson and Maxfield for the day and it was a total hoot. We went street contacting on Kent State University and talked to a couple way awesome people there. We talked to some super cool dude riding around on his skateboard and he seemed pretty interested in what we had to say. After that we did a butt ton of contacting and reporting. To end off the day we went and stopped by some self referrals and pretty much no one answered. So RIP life I guess.
Wednesday we were on training visits with the Canton elders. I was with Elder Clifford and it was a really busy day. We went and walked around a park in the morning and talked to a really stubborn Catholic lady. She didn't want to talk with us, but she talked to us first. She was pretty hype. After that we did another district blitz and knocked a couple of neighborhoods. No one wanted to talk with us, but we saw a high speed chase so it was all worth it.
Thursday was interviews and it was a pretty long day. We sat in district councils all day long. We got to the church at 8am to set up and we didn't get home until 7pm. It went by slow, but I had a good interview with President so I can't complain.
Friday morning we had a bible study with some lady and her neighbor and it went really good. After that we had a good lesson with a guy we're teaching named Daniel. It was interesting to say the least, but it's all good. We ended off the day with a whole bunch of contacting and weekly planning so it was pretty good overall.
Saturday we went on training visits with the Ashland elders again. i was with Elder Foster for the day and it went really good. It was a recent convert's birthday so we did a birthday party with her and her family and a couple missionaries. It was at on of fun spending time with all of them. After that we did a whole bunch of contacting and set up a couple lessons with some people that we are teaching. We had a couple of lessons after that and ended off the day with ward basketball so it was way lit.
Sunday went by way fast, it was crazy. We had church in the morning which went quickly and a couple lessons that afternoon. We met with a guy who we are trying to get ready for baptism, but he won't stop smoking. Every we we go over and talk about not smoking and then he just does it all over again. We are just taking time with him and hopefully things will get better. At the end of the day we went over to a member's house and we ate some alligator. Yeah, we ate some alligator and it was delicious. It was like a mix between fish and chicken. I want more, but it's all good. Nothing else really happened throughout the day, so it was pretty fantastic.
Miracle of the Week:
All of the missionaries in our zone have been working super hard in the past month and have found 125 new people to teach as a zone!
Funny Moment of the Week:
One of the elders in our district couldn't find his phone so he went a little berserk because he thought one of us took it. He started patting all of us elders down and chasing everyone who tried to run away. It was hilarious watching him go off and tell us to chill out while he was running around liek Batman looking for his phone. It was way funny!
Love,
Elder Bohn
