Hey everyone! This was a very usual week with a bunch of unusual activities. This will make more sense as you read.
Here is a quick run through of this week:
Monday we hung out with our district and painted pumpkins. Pretty normal. But I didn't want a pumpkin so I painted a watermelon instead. So that was exciting to say the least. I hope you recognize who I painted.
Tuesday we had district council in the morning. Pretty normal. But it was also interviews so that was exciting. President is such a goon! I love that man! After that we spent the day stopping by some of our friends. We did some knocking and were able to talk to some pretty cool people, so that was hype.
Wednesday we had a pretty average day. Which consisted of a whole bunch of contacting to set up lessons and then a couple really good lessons. Things got lit when we had the ward trunk or treat party. All the missionaries were the costume judges so we had a difficult job. One activity we did was turning 2 people into a toilet paper mummy. We did a pretty good job turning Elder Bird into a mummy.
Thursday was an awesome day to say the least. We talked with our landlord for a while in the morning and had a good conversation. After that we went to the legendary Teriyaki Express. There are only 2 in the mission and one is in Cleveland, the other is in Reynoldsburg where we did service. So we cashed out those blessings. It was lit. After consuming divine food we did some service at a food bank and we got to talk to some pretty awesome people. At the end of the day we had a really awesome lesson with our friend Anthony. The spirit was definitely there and he has a strong desire to change and improve. The funny moment of the week will cover the rest of the night.
Friday we pretty much had a whole bunch of lessons that all went pretty good. And that's all there really is to it.
Saturday I went up to Newark for a training visit with the ZLs. We did some service in the morning. Pretty normal. But the service was butchering 40 chickens. So that was an exciting start to the day. After that we tried to reach out to some people they're teaching to no avail. We did meet some interesting people that were probably on some kind of substance. At the end of the day we went to the Newark ward Halloween party so I've gotten 2 in the past week. To end off the night we went to this special Wendy's. They offer a 50 piece nugget meal and strawberry frosties. So you know that I seized that opportunity.
Sunday we had church in the morning. Pretty normal. But it was the primary program so it was way lit. We also had our friend Vanessa and her son come so we were ecstatic. After church we had some planning and studies to do and then went and tried to get in contact with some people we met a couple days prior. No luck, but we made the effort. After that we did companion study and dinner with the Spanish Elders and called it a night.
Miracle of the week:
Honestly finding that Teriyaki Express. It literally made my day awesome. Just look at the picture of it and tell me that wouldn't make your day.
Funny moment of the week:
On the night of trick or treating we spent the night with some members (the Hesslers) on their porch and handed out candy. It was raining so customers were far and few between. So whenever someone came to take a piece of candy they would grab 2 and Brother Hessler would say, "How many did you just take?" They would get a look of panic as they stammered out "two". He would say, "Well that's not nearly enough so take a handful!" And then invite them to take a big handful of candy. It was pretty funny to see the kids go from scared out of their minds to elated just like that.
Love,
Elder Bohn
